The North East Ski season usually starts in late November and can run till late April. There are some Backcountry areas that can be skied into may and even June! Here is a list of lift serviced ski areas in New england... All places have a variety of terrain from beginner to expert. There are also several areas where you can backcountry ski but for the most part that is advanced to expert terrain.

Sunday River: http://www.sundayriver.com The closest destination from The Lodge Massive... 8 peaks 120+ trails, excellent grooming and snow making.

Sugarloaf: http://www.sugarloaf.com long drive from Boston. Excellent terrain and a large vertical drop make this place a blast. The only above tree line skiing in the east!

Loon: http://www.loonmtn.com Best skiing close to Boston (2 hour drive). Decent vertical drop, nice variety of terrain. Can get crowded.

Vermont

Killington: http://www.killington.com Very large, lots of terrain. Try Outer Limits if you like bumps

Mad River Glen: http://www.madriverglen.com Old school New England skiing. Incredible tree skiing, tight windy trails, bring your skills cus you're gonna need em. The best part is that there are no snowboarders allowed!
